Central Coast Railroad Festival
October 6-10, 2011

Joe Burns

Joe Burns began his love affair with railroads working the old Mine Train at Disneyland. Joe started hopping freight trains across the USA while attending film school at USC. A challenging part of that Santa Fe job was avoiding rocks thrown from "the projects" while engines were turned on the "Y". As a writer/producer, Joe worked for Disney, the Disney Channel, WDI, Group W, ABC, CBS and Universal. Joe has produced 3,000 TV spots and 2,000 radio spots. In one three-year period, Joe was nominated for six CLIO Awards. Joe also worked on theme park projects in Orlando, Kansas City, Australia, Tokyo and Korea. Print work includes being editor-in-chief for three film industry magazines. This is Joe's first theatrical stage project.

Joe battled with cancer during the final several months of show creation and rehearsals. He was able to attend the opening night performance and, unfortunately, passed away two days after the show closed in March of 2011. Thanks, Joe.
